"I have used Computer Assistant.com twice now for very dis-related problems. The first time they provided on-site service the same day (!) and the last time I received remote support which was excellent. They are so knowledgeable, don't waste time, and you couldn't ask for a more timely response. Starting with Michael as Account Manager this company has it together!"

"I''d had a face-face tech come in and replace my DVD player. It hadn''t been working. It worked for a week, then started doing the same things as previously. I had a session with a remote tech and the system seemed to be fixed at the end of that session. However, a few days later, it started freezing up again. CA offered me a free hour of service with the same remote tech ("Russ"--he''s great!) and he was able to finally turn of Mediacenter and connect my player with a working program. My player works now and I''m happy!"

"Log into Ann's PC. Inspect email issue. Found both Outlook & Outlook Express installed, where Outlook was used from 2005-2007, but somehow was switched to Outlook Express in 2007."
"Issue with Outlook Express was resolved by converting back over to regular Outlook. Deleted all old messages and imported current email and settings. Outlook includes the Norton AntiSpam, which Ann had previously used as well. Worked on Canon Printer issue - ran test print page and no black text appeared. Issued Deep Cleaning command on black cartridge to printer. Informed the black may be out of ink or defective cartridge and needs to be replaced."

"Client running Windows Vista and had multiple virus infections, could not boot her computer and her disk was filling up."
"9/22 - 7:15pm - 2:20am (1.75 hr) Had Abby reboot into Safe Mode. Logged into system and began downloading/installing utilities. Ran MalwareBytes and removed 80+ infections. Rebooted system. Reset IE to default settings. Cleared all temporary files and emptied recycling bin. Rebooted and updated AVG. Removed Live One Care (out-dated/expired). Downloaded all current available Windows Updates. Less than 1 gig initially free on C drive. After clearing, 7+ Gig free. 9/23 - 6:45 - 7:00 (.25 hr) Close out of call with Abby. She was having difficulty browsing internet and system seemed to be running slow. Walked her through steps to check internet connectivity. Recommend RAM upgrade, 1 Gig currently installed, and was able to run Crucial scan and determine memory type. Recommended minimum 2 Gig. "

"Client has both Office 2000 and MS Works on her computer. Windows 2000 is producing pop-ups asking for the CD-key information -- interferring with her ability to open Word Documents. Client wants to uninstall Office 2000 so that she can open Word documents with MS Works. Service is for Monday 5/11/09 at 8:00PM or Wednesday 5/13/09 after 6:30PM"
"Logged into system. Installed OpenOffice, retrieved documents from before system restore, checked for Windows Updates. Recommend battery backup & external harddrive for backups. Tested files and answered questions. Turned off System Standby for system. Checked Antivirus."

"Client needs to get anti virus software configured properly on her new PC. Has Verizon DSL. Wants a call tomorrow at 10 AM from Remote Support."
"Ran manual virus scans on system - no detections (via Malware Bytes & MRT). Loaded AVG, configured, and updated. Removed Verizon Internet Security. Verified security center. Recommended battery backup for system and to contact Verizon to discontinue billing for security software. Rebooted system. Explained Verizon issue is most likely related to 64-bit Windows version, and that Verizon probably had not loaded a 64-bit version or taken that into consideration."

"Wireless internet works but ethernet does not. Wants to configure ethernet with computer & router. Remote Support"
"Onboard network adapter not functioning properly on laptop. Checked Device Manager, and showed working properly. User swapped network cable, cable tested good, but no connection on port. Rebooted in Safe Mode and checked connection; still no luck. Downloaded original drivers from Dell and reinstalled; still no connection. Suspect bad network port on motherboard - estimated repair cost exceeds $300 to replace MB (out of warranty). Recommended using alternative network connection, like through high Targus cooling pad w/ Port Replicator, or by buying a USB to Network adapter. Also checked RAM from www.crucial.com for upgrade possibilities."
